A dense artisan type sourdough loaf with a thick crust. It takes Sarah 3 days to make this bread, allowing the sourdough taste to come through strong.

99% of total ingredients from our farm.

 

Ingredients: Our HRW Turkey Red wheat flour, water, sea salt (Morton)

The HRW (hard red winter) heirloom wheat variety we use is maintained on our farm and is a pre-Green Revolution wheat variety brought from Turkey in the 1800s (Turkey Red Wheat). Like all our flours, it was stone ground in small batches for freshness. Unlike white flour, it does not need to be enriched because the natural vitamins were never removed.

The wheat used in this bread was grown, harvested, cleaned, stone milled and then baked on our farm
